Meet the Teacher Blogger

So I figured better late than never, or in my case better REALLY REALLY late than never. I think that my blogging skills are really going to get better once I get back on a schedule, hopefully. :) For now, I'm linking up with Falling Into First for Meet the Teacher Blogger.

I'm Krisanna. I'm a, soon to be, 25 year old. I'm in the middle of a birthday countdown right now :) I've been married to my WONDERFUL, patient, understanding, husband for a little over two years now. We don't have any real kiddos, but we do have one furbaby who is kind of our world. Meet Keegan, our very spoiled yorkie. :)

Here's a pic of me and the hubs too...

Needless to say, I'm pretty crazy about him!

I teach High School English. It's usually pretty interesting in my classroom. Not bad interesting, but definitely good. We don't do boring in my class. :) I'm hoping to record and share some of the happenings from my classroom this year on my blog. We'll see how it goes.

Now to the fun part...

THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS...

Coffee: iced, hot, lukewarm, any way you can make it...just about. My husband. Seriously, I'm that corny. Crafting, graphic design, sleeping, fried foods, and pens. I have an obsession with pens and stationary.

IF YOU WEREN'T A TEACHER, WHAT WOULD YOU WANT TO BE?

I actually have a master's degree in college student personnel, and thought that I might use it for a while. If I wasn't a teacher, I'd definitely be working in student affairs or res life at a college setting.

THREE LITTLE WORDS THAT DESCRIBE YOU.
Intense. Loving. Social.

FINISH THE SENTENCE, "________,  SAID NO TEACHER EVER!!"

"I definitely want to repeat myself 5 billion times...said no teacher EVER!!"
"I definitely want to spend my weekend/break grading essays...said no teacher EVER!!"

Q: IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY AND YOU CAN INVITE ANYONE {DEAD OR ALIVE} TO THE PARTY. WHO ARE YOU INVITING?

My hubs. We're cool that way. I'm weird about the idea of hanging out with random people I don't know on my birthday. :/

Q: IF SOMEONE WROTE A BOOK ABOUT YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD BE THE TITLE?

Um...maybe it would be titled "Sweet Tea and Teaching"

Q:YOU GET TO PICK ONE SUPERPOWER. WHAT IS IT?

I think I'd want to be able to fly

Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE OR SAYING?

"Trust me, though, the words were on their way, and when they arrived, Liesel would hold them in her hands like the clouds, and she would wring them out like the rain." -Markus Zusak

I love how beautiful his writing is and how he details the power of words. Gorgeous.

Q: IF YOU HAD TO SING ONE SONG ON AMERICAN IDOL, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

 1. I'm not a great singer
2. If I HAD to sing, I think I would sing "Blessings" by Laura Story. It's beautiful.

Q: ARE YOU A MORNING PERSON OR A NIGHT OWL?

I'm TOTALLY a morning person. I hardly ever stay up past 9:30, even on the weekends. Once I'm actually awake in the morning, I'm good to go!

Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE RESOURCE THAT YOU'VE CREATED IN YOUR TPT SHOP?

I really love my teacher binders. Especially the purple and teal one. I couldn't find exactly what I wanted when I was looking for one, because so many of them are geared toward the lower grades. This led me to create my own, which turned out great.

Q: SHARE SOMETHING WE MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU!

I met my husband when I was 12. I said I'd never marry anyone from my small town or live anywhere near it...well guess what I'm doing and where I am. The crazy thing is that living here and being married to him makes me the happiest girl in the world. God has a sense of humor.

That's all for now. Go check out the other awesome teacher bloggers over at the linky. Click on the picture below to get there :)

What I bought at the TPT sale!

Oh I can't even explain how excited I am! I just emptied out my wishlist over at TPT. BIG SALE = 30% off! Oh my! I love it! So I'm linking up with the crew over at Blog Hoppin' to share the awesome deals I snagged!

http://imbloghoppin.blogspot.com/2014/08/show-us-what-you-bought-linky.html
My first purchase was a set of subway art genre posters that I've been envying checking out for the past couple of weeks.

Yes! Aren't they gorgeous! Click on the picture or head over to The Brown Bag Teacher's Store to snag yours :)

That was really the only decor related item I bought. There really isn't A LOT of decor items to buy for a High School classroom. Which is ok, because my room is more than full. :)

Next up, the content stuff. I can't wait to get to school and print all this stuff out and plan it into my curriculum. Holy smokes I'm excited!

This sale was all I was waiting for to snatch up the majority of Stacey Lloyd's bundles. I think I at least bought her a large coffee and a muffin at Starbucks today lol.

Don't those all look amazing! I'm so thrilled about these purchases.

Then I stopped by Tracee Orman's Store. I adore her stuff. Seriously, and she's super nice and very humble to boot! So great!

Last, but definitely not least, I stopped by Julie Faulkner's Store and picked up a depth of knowledge checklist. This is going to save my hiney this year. I'm so glad that I was able to find this a couple of weeks ago. Score!

If you haven't gotten over to teacherspayteachers for the BIG SALE, don't be disappointed, it's still going on today. Enjoy!

Monday Made It!

Once again, I'm linking up with Tara at Fourth Grade Frolics for Monday Made It!

http://4thgradefrolics.blogspot.com/
So, I start back to work "officially" next week, although I've been there A LOT over the summer! I've been working on my classroom for the last week, and it's coming along nicely. Without further ado...some of my monday made its.

I actually finished this last week, but I'm just now getting around to sharing it. This is my paper lantern "chandelier" for my classroom. Classy right? LOL

Ok, so I know this doesn't look like much...YET! I just bought some subway genre posters from tpt that would probably look amazing here. Just saying. I borrowed this super cute idea from Clutter-Free Classroom

http://clutterfreeclassroom.blogspot.com/2012/07/creating-display-areas-classroom-360.html

http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Positive-Postcards-1366609
My positive postcards. I used some very cute Krista Wallden borders to create my positive postcards for this year. It's a set of 15 with encouraging/positive words at the top that I send to parents throughout the year. Yes, I'm corny!

Hi, my name is Krisanna, and I make my own laundry detergent. :) It's been about six months, so it was time to make laundry detergent. I love putting it in this lovely little container. It only costs me $1.71 and it lasts for six months worth of laundry. Plus, it doesn't break my skin out, it cleans wonderfully, I can scent it however I want (Last time it was mango. This time it's cucumber melon), and it saves me a bundle (laundry detergent is like $9 a gallon...ugh).

My final Monday Made It, which I somehow don't have a label for...

                                                   Monday Made It 5!

This is my version of Learning in Wonderland's student work board. Mine is for exceptional work. My high school students love to brag. This is a perfect way to let them brag about good things! I love how it turned out!

I had a couple of the clothespins with bows left over, so I put magnets on the back to use as clips on my whiteboard! Win!

What did you make for Monday Made It?
