Do you like subscription boxes like birchbox, ipsy, barkbox, or others? Do you teach English? If your answer to these two questions is yes then you're going to LOVE teach box! When this picture pops up in your inbox, you know it's going to be a good day!
Teach Box is a subscription based "box" that is curated for English teachers, and it's awesome! These are the lessons that you wish you were using when your administration walks in for an observation visit.
So here's how it works. Your teach box arrives in your inbox on the first day of each month that you're subscribed. Inside your box (email) is a link to a password protected page and your password for the month. You then follow the link and use the password to unlock your content for the month.
Each box starts out with an essential question on which the lessons are based. For example, December's question is listed below.
Then you get three different lessons that are based on this question. Each lesson comes with teacher plans and student handouts that are located on google drive for ease of use. The teacher plans include standards that the lesson covers, things you need to do to prepare for the lesson, and steps to implementing the lesson in your classroom.
The lessons for this month are analysis based and cover visual texts, non-fiction texts, and archetypes in these texts. All three lessons link back to the essential question about generosity and greed.
All of the content is presented in a visually appealing way that is easy to navigate and fun to explore. The lessons included are engaging and relevant. They're exactly what you're looking for, and they're easy to use. Teach box is a great way to continually grow your library of lessons, and I absolutely love that it is related to the month in which it is delivered. That makes it easy to use these lessons as fillers for those days that land between units.
The Amandas, co-creators of Teach Box, have done an amazing job of creating content that you're going to love!
